What's new?

  • Full support for the PMDG 737 series of aircraft in P3D and MSFS.
  • Started support for the PMDG 747 series of aircraft for P3D 4 and later.
  • Airports database improvements for MSFS.
  • Weather center where pilots can see the weather at their current location. Access with right bracket CONTROL+W.
  • New Cloud tracking command that automatically announces in/out of cloud. Turn on/off with right bracket CONTROL+O.
  • New customizable cloud command (Right bracket SHIFT+O) that announces information about clouds surrounding the aircraft.
  • New mute TFM command (Right bracket SHIFT+M) stops TFM from automatically announcing aircraft and weather changes.
  • New keyboard help command (right bracket question mark) announces basic descriptions of key presses.
  • New TFM database feature that stores speech history across TFM restarts. There is more planned for this feature, so stay tuned!
  • New quick help dialog that appears on first run of a new TFM install. It provides a few hints on how to get help with keyboard commands.
  • New settings to control what is announced in supported PMDG aircraft.
  • The wind command (right bracket I) is now customizable.
  • Where am I? (right bracket SHIFT+C) now announces runway length when the aircraft is positioned on a runway.
  • Where am I? (right bracket SHIFT+C) now announces the airport ICAO code when on the airport grounds if not on a taxiway, gate, or runway.
  • Removed Navigraph support.
  • Removed the freeware flight planner and related components. They were not compatible with the new airports database.

What's new?

See Developer update 5/12/2022 for details on the features included with this release. This is a hotfix release to fix some of the new features in the blog post.

  • ILS: The destination runway window no longer crashes when loading runways without an ILS. The temporary fix excludes any runway without an ILS.
  • ILS: the glide slope position is based on the aircraft. Not the other way around. EX: "1500 above" means that the aircraft is 1500 feet above the glide slope, not below it.

  • There is no keyboard command to restart TFM. Restart it from the notification tray icon.
  • The announce perf init complete setting on the PMDG page of TFM settings is not working at this time.

What's new?

  • TFM now follows a continuous versioning scheme. The format is YY.MM, where YY is the two digit year and MM is a two digit month.
  • Settings now persist across version changes.
  • Moved settings to the simulator window. Access with ] question mark (Shift+/).
  • Moved A2A manager to the simulator window. Access with ] Ctrl+Shift+M.
  • Moved aircraft profiles to the simulator window. Access with ] Ctrl+I.
  • Moved visit website to the simulator window. Access with ] Ctrl+Shift+W.
  • Moved report an issue to the simulator window. Access with ] Ctrl+Shift+I.
  • Removed the main TFM window. TFM is now a background app.
  • Added a system tray context menu. While the TFM system tray icon has focus, access with any one of applications key, shift+F10, JAWS key +F11 then pressing ENTER on the icon, right click with the mouse, or by using the systray NVDA addon.
    • The context menu has the following options
    • Settings - Displays the settings dialog.
    • Command keys - When pressed, toggles the command keys on or off. The menu option will display "enabled" or "disabled" depending on the command key's current state.
    • Keyboard - Displays the keyboard manager.
    • Website - Uses the default system browser to display TFM's website.
    • Issue tracker - Uses the system default browser to display TFM's issue tracker in GitHub.
    • About - Displays the about box.
    • Restart - Restarts TFM.
    • Shutdown - Shuts down TFM.
  • PMDG, all aircraft: Added the ability to load offsets based on a specific aircraft model (737-900ER or 777F, etc...)
  • PMDG 777: Added hydraulics panel.
  • PMDG 777: Added remaining offsets. The remaining influence visual aspects of flight. Contact us if you wish to have the display, efis, and panel knobs included.
  • PMDG 777: TFM is aware of each of the aircraft models (777F, 300ER, 200LR, etc...).
  • PMDG 777: TFM announces when the PERF INIT page of the FMC is complete. A setting to turn it on/off will come later.
  • PMDG 777: TFM now reads speedbrake on demand. Access with ] then / ("slash key")
  • PMDG 777: Added an MCP navigation box containing flight directors and autopilots. Access with [ then the letter f.
  • PMDG 737/777: MCP dialogs now select text in the text fields when displayed.

Known issues

  • TFM might crash or hang. To recover, find it in the processes tab under applications in the Windows task manager. Once found, delete it from the list by pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
